Giovanina first began playing guitar in 2001, when a beloved 1956 Martin landed in her arms. It wasn't quite that romantic. But it's been a love fest since then--she's crafted a finger-picking style that's percussive, unique, and imperfectly authentic.
Over time, Giovanina has discovered a vocal style that is markedly hers--bluesy, soulful and sultry. As a solo performer, Giovanina's influences are eclectic and her live show varies from gig to gig. She is an intimate writer. One who shares personal stories and experiences because writing about the big stuff seems, well, too big.
A love for travel and consuming the world at large has led Giovanina all over the place, most recently back from Durango, CO to settle in Burlington, VT. Giovanina released two albums in the course of being back in her hometown of Plattsburgh, NY, The Road Home (2012) and A Bit of Alright (2015). Check them out on Itunes, CDBaby, Amazon, Spotify and Pandora!
At present, Giovanina plays in the Burlington-based band, Nina's Brew. They released their EP in April 2018 and have been hitting the New England scene with fervor since they joined forces in spring 2017. For a complete rundown of the project, check out their website!
